The first time I heard the word subluxation, I had no idea what it meant. All I did know was that my back was killing me, and it was not getting better on its own. I figured I might need to see a chiropractor in Beverly Hills to get things back to normal. What had happened was rather silly. Some of us were goofing off at work, and I ended up falling off my chair during a game of office football. As soon as I got up, I knew that I was in for a few days of pain because of how I felt.
However, after a few days, the pain was not better. If anything, it actually felt worse. I had tried low dose meds, ice packs and heating pads, figuring one of them would have to work. I even had my wife massage my back every night, but nothing was helping me. I went ahead and made an appointment to see a chiropractor who had an office not far from where we live. It was a bit embarrassing explaining that my football injury was not exactly something that had happened on the field, but she assured me she has seen and heard it all.
She told me that what I was experiencing was a subluxation, and it would require some adjustments to get everything back to how it should be. She was able to do the first one that day, and I went back twice a week for a few weeks. The amazing part is that when I finally felt better, I actually felt the best I had in years. My chiropractor explained that everyone should have regular adjustments, and that is advice that my wife and I are both taking. Both of us feel better than amazing because of it.
